Manvert silikon increases firmness, reduces cracking, dehydration and weight loss and tackles stress

High concentration silicon, the great ally for quality and postharvest in fruit

The interest in silicon-based products is growing on the market, as their benefits have been widely studied and proven in all types of crops. In fruit trees, high concentration silicon products have become a great ally to achieve a notable improvement in the fruit's quality and postharvest life.

One of the products with the highest concentration of assimilable silicon in solution is manvert silikon. This biostimulant, still in full expansion after more than 10 years present in various parts of the planet, has 30% w/w and 36% w/v assimilable silicon in solution. In addition, manvert silikon is manufactured with Neovert tech's own technology, so higher concentration, greater coverage and better penetration of the product is achieved in the plant's different tissues.

Around the world, manvert silikon has achieved a remarkable improvement of both fruit quality and post-harvest life, so the product's application in these crops translates into a considerable increase in profitability.

Improved postharvest life
In fruit trees, both stone and pome, it reduces internal decomposition (a common problem in apples); increases firmness (very necessary in crops such as kakis); increases skin hardness (a quality appreciated in citrus) and keeps stalks green (important in cherries) and rachises green (a key factor in table grapes) for much longer. It also reduces deterioration and prevents the presence of fungi in cold storage (essential in berries). In short, the life of fruit intended for export or that needs to be kept in good condition for a longer period of time is extended.

In grapes, the application of manvert silikon translates into a notable reduction of rachis dehydration and shelling.

In blueberries the results of the application of manvert silikon are evident after more than a month in cold storage conditions. 

Improvement in the quality
In stone and pip fruit trees, it notably reduces cracking, pitting and lizard skin; in citrus, it reduces the impact of creasing and bark collapse. These improvements logically result in more marketable fruits being obtained.

In apples, there's a notable reduction of cracking and an increase in the amount of marketable fruits 

Trials with manvert silikon have also shown that it significantly increases the yield of cereal crops, even under conditions of water stress, and reduces lodging. In other crops, such as melon, it reduces water loss.
