As part of its expansion plan in southern Spain, the company Fernández Global Fruit Group has acquired two sales outlets in Seville's wholesale market Mercasevilla. These are already open to the public.
These two points of sale are located at numbers 16 and 17 of Mercasevilla's Warehouse 1. Together, and taking into account stands and display area, storage rooms and offices, they reach a total of 288 m2.
Fernández Global Fruit Group is currently one of the largest fruit and vegetable wholesale distribution companies in Spain, with 230 thousand tons of fruit and vegetables from all over the world marketed annually. Although they already had a presence in the main Spanish wholesale markets in central and northern Spain, they had yet to expand in the south.
"In 2017, we had nothing in Seville, but over the last three years we have acquired Sevimpor SL, specialized in the ripening and marketing of Canary bananas, with 1,800 square meters of facilities," says Montse Montané, from the company's marketing department. "Subsequently, in 2018, we inaugurated an 8,000 square meter platform in Dos Hermanas, in Seville, which provides a banana ripening service and facilitates the supply of both local and imported products to supermarkets, taking advantage of the logistical advantages offered by being so close to the port of Algeciras."
"With the opening of these two Mercasevilla stores, our expansion plan in southern Spain is complete, at least for now," says Montse Montané.
"In this new location, we will offer our retail customers in the area one of our flagship products: the Canary banana, as well as a wide range of domestic and off-season products, especially imports from North Africa and South America," she said.
