France: CTIFL integrates “La Morinière” station

As a research and experimentation actor serving professionals of the fruit and vegetable sector, CTIFL is reinforcing its presence in the French region of Centre-Loire Valley. At the request of professionals and in agreement with public authorities, CTIFL integrated La Morinière, fruit study and experiment station, on Monday, the 29th of March.

Established on a surface of 65 ha including 36 ha of orchards, La Morinière gathers all the species and varieties of reference of the Loire Valley: apple trees, pear trees and small red fruits. It is characterized by the size of its plots and equipment, comparable to professional farms, in order to obtain results that can easily be transposed to the reality of arboriculturists.

By joining the 4 operational centers based in Saint-Rémy de Provence (13), Balandran (30), Lanxade (24) and Carquefou (44), La Morinière strengthens the visibility of the actions taken by CITFL in the regions. It will also help build closer relationships with the region and its local professionals.

In addition, this development will enable CITFL to build a pome fruit network with its other centers in order to further establish the position of future projects at the European level.

This new integration confirms the desire of CITFL to remain a field player, aware of local specificities in order to better meet the expectations of the fruit and vegetable sector and increase the transfer of experimental results to professionals.
