ecoSolv South Africa installs largest water saving and enhancement device in Sub Saharan Africa

ecoSolv South Africa is an internationally insured agricultural products and technology distributer aiming to enhance the sustainability and regeneration of agricultural landscapes in Sub Saharan Africa.

The 43 ¼” 120kg ecoSolv water enhancement device was installed on the 9th of March 2021 in Malmsbury, South Africa on a 180 ha mixed-veg farm. The farmers had severe algae and scaling issues, after 3 weeks the farmers have reduced algae blockages in the sprinklers and on central pivot lines. Now sprinklers can spray further with greater ease and increased soil wettability with the ecoSolv water enhancement device.

"For 10 years ecoSolv has helped farmers produce greater yields with less resources. With our water-enhancement device, farmers will grow healthier, more resilient plants, reducing use of chemical cleaning agents, pesticides, herbicides and fungicides. This technology allows farmers to farm efficiently, sustainably and regeneratively, conditioning soils and restoring vitality.” says ecoSolv SA owner Rick Stewart.

"With regards to fruit and vegetable farming, we see greater BRIX and SPAD levels."

ecoSolv technology has developed a unique way of reducing the surface tension of water that runs through the water-enhancement device. This is done through a combination of flow design and a very specific frequency emitted by rare earth salts embedded within the device. By reducing surface tension, irrigated water can effectively infiltrate through soils in a more uniform manner, increasing not only the availability of moisture to the root zone, but also, the availability of macro and micronutrients. Hence, ecoSolve advise all end-users to immediately reduce their fertilizer applications by a minimum of 10% to avoid the ‘burning’ of crops.

The device also has cleaning/de-scaling properties, removing blockages in irrigation systems and build-up within mains and end lines, including the drip nozzles and sprinkler heads. One of the best features of the device is that it is a single unit, approximately one meter long and is simply attached onto the irrigation line after the filters. It has no moving parts, it doesn’t erode, oxidise or require any electricity or maintenance and once installed provides a lifetime of benefits to the end-user.

"The technology we distribute is considerably beneficial to agriculture today, particularly in Africa, where farming resources are hard to access, and drought is a recurring challenge limiting African farmers to low yields."

ecoSolv will be at NAMPO Harvest day in South Africa, Bothaville 17-20 August 2021 and at NAMPO Cape 8- 10 September 2021 www.grainsa.co.za
