As in previous years, most Hainan pineapple farmers still prefer to produce the Jinzuan no. 17. The sales conditions of Hainan pineapples are great this year. The price is clearly higher than last year. "I think that the high price of Hainan pineapples is the result of an import prohibition on Taiwanese pineapples. However, that influence is not as great as it may seem. There are other reasons. First, the climate in Hainan is well suited for pineapple production. Second, the Jinzuan pineapple is a market favorite. Its price is high and stable. The price of fragrant pineapples is more or less the same as last year." The pineapple is a tropical fruit, so pineapple plantations in China are distributed among the relatively hot provinces of Guangdong, Hainan, Guangxi, Fujian, and Yunnan. Current market supply primarily consists of Xuwen pineapples from Hainan and Guangdong. The pineapples from these two provinces are more or less the same in terms of flavor and product quality. Their main difference is the supply period.

"We sell pineapples under our own brand 'Hainan Farm Flavor'. We sell both through traditional retail channels and e-commerce platforms. Our fragrant pineapples are mostly sold in the wholesale markets and supermarkets of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Shanghai. As for the size of the pineapples, there seems to be an equal amount of large and small pineapples this year," said Mr. Wang Zhiqiang.
