The ISYCAD industrial cold control management program allows controlling in real-time all the parameters of the cold and controlled atmosphere systems. The program was developed by Ilerfred more than 10 years ago and it has been widely used in horticultural facilities, mainly for pome and stone fruit. Now, the Lleida company has taken a step forward by adapting its successful software for the avocado industry.
Avocado is a climacteric fruit and therefore continues to ripen once harvested. Thus, depending on the market demand for ready-to-eat fruit, it undergoes forced ripening that enables the acceleration of metabolic processes and homogenizes the appearance and ripeness of the fruit.
To achieve optimal ripening, Ilerfred has incorporated the Madurfresh platform into its ISYCAD software, which allows controlling the avocado ripening chambers. The software allows regulating the entire ripening process, controlling the temperature of the chamber and that of the product, the concentrations of ethylene, oxygen, and carbon dioxide, humidity, the regulation of the speed, and the pressure of the fans based on specific needs during the maturation process.
The Madurfresh platform allows users to easily control the entire fruit ripening process in real-time from a desktop or remote computer. Avocados ripen through personalized programs - defined by each user - that offer great operational flexibility since the duration of these programs and their temperature can be set daily according to the fruit's conditions or origin.
The software is also capable of controlling the application of gas during ripening by adjusting the duration of the gasification.
