Barhi date popular fruit during Ramadan

At Bud Holland BV in Maasdijk, the season of the Barhi date has started again for 2 weeks. The king of dates are not dried and are mainly sold by the branch and are available in boxes of 2 kg and 4.5 kg.

Barhi dates have a sweet-juicy flavor that is fresher and more fruity than a dried date. Over time, the dates will begin to sugarcoat and become brown. It is a natural process in which the sugar in the date crystallizes. "But even then, or especially then, they are delicious to eat, nice and sweet and crunchy." says Sanne Vermeulen, marketing and communication employee at Bud Holland.

With Ramadan approaching, the Peruvian season (March to April) is perfect this year. Athos Group in Peru is the only company in Peru that grows these dates. Moreover, around this time Peru is the only country in the world together with Namibia, where these dates are grown. However, they are currently experiencing production problems in Namibia.

On the new Bud Holland website, which was launched today, you can find even more information about the Barhi dates and about the other special, exotic products and valued partners of Bud Holland. "In the enormous product library, end users can find everything about the origin, availability and use of our special products." says Sanne.

“The keywords 'fresh & diverse' were central to the creation of the new website. Our products are sourced from all over the world - from China to South Africa and from New Zealand to Peru. More than 600 fresh products from more than 70 countries are collected in our warehouse.” Sanne continues. For the development of the new website, Bud Holland once again entered into a partnership with marketing and communication agency Zij & Blij, which also shaped Bud Holland's new corporate identity in 2019.

No party is complete without gifts! There is a price hidden somewhere on the new website. Have you found a picture of the Bud X JBL Go2? Click on it and leave your details. You have a chance to win one of the 25 Bud X JBL Go2 speakers! Good luck!
