Citrus Research Institute Sargodha experts:

'Cooperation between Pakistan and China in citrus industry remains untapped'

According to Pakistani scientists of Citrus Research Institute Sargodha (CRIS), the cooperation between Pakistan and China in the citrus industry remains untapped. The claim that scientists from both the countries can exchange much more information and knowledge.

Ihsan ul Haq, Principal Scientist of Citrus Research Institute Sargodha (CRIS), stated: “China is helping us a lot in research work and Pakistan’s citrus industry is trying to obey the Chinese Laws for import which are called SPS (Sanitary and Phytosanitary).”

At this point in time, Pakistan produces more than 30 types of different fruits; citrus fruit is a leading fruit product, making up about 30% of the total fruit production.
