Novagric offers comprehensive projects for sustainable, high-yielding agriculture

Looije's production volume grew by 14% in 2020

The difficulties and new challenges that have arisen as a result of the spread of the coronavirus have not stopped the producer organization Looije SL, which closed the year 2020 with a 14% growth in its production volume. The company, specialized in the marketing of cherry tomatoes, has managed to maintain the growth rate achieved over the last five years.

"We are proud to see our work and our firm commitment to quality and innovation being rewarded by the consumer," said Juan José López, general manager of Looije, referring to the improvements in the entire production process achieved in recent years through investments in high-end technology.

An example of this is the new Looije Águilas greenhouse, a project carried out in partnership with Novagric (Novedades Agrícolas); a company devoted to the industrial development of integral projects for high-yield sustainable agriculture. The technology implemented in these facilities has led to a significant increase in productivity.

The greenhouse, set up by Novagric for the company Looije, is fully technologically-equipped for cherry tomato production. It is a turnkey project with a surface totaling 51,280 m², with double ¼ and perimeter zenithal ventilation, designed to optimize the entry of solar radiation. To this end, the presence of obstacles preventing the passage of light has been minimized, and other techniques have been implemented to ensure stability. The greenhouse arches have been lacquered in white, with a greater exit angle to optimize the entry of solar radiation. The irrigation system used is hydroponic, with channels suspended from the greenhouse structure itself.

Novagric is committed to the technological, sustainable and profitable development of agriculture, and to this end it has expanded its facilities to offer the best service to agricultural organizations and have a great response capacity to take on all types of projects at national and international level.

"Also, the new innovation center and showroom installed in Alhama de Murcia is allowing us to test every new technological development, thereby helping guarantee success in the pursuit for crop profitability and productivity," says Juan Pardo, head of the technical department of Novagric. "This, together with our capacity to offer a complete project from design, manufacture and assembly to installation and the provision of agronomic advice to our customers, is our biggest competitive advantage. It is the main reason why companies like Looije are choosing to develop their projects with us, obtaining great results."
