Four winners for the Foodtech accelerator

Launched in October 2020 by Sodebo and Brioches Fonteneau based in the French Vendée, the Foodtech accelerator has finally selected, for its first season, four start-ups offering innovative packaging solutions as alternatives to plastic.

The four winners are: Berny, created in Nantes in 2020 (reusable and returnable packaging for consumer products), Carbiolice, created in the Auvergne in 2016 (plant-based plastics that turn into compost in less than 200 days), Outlander Materials, created in the Netherlands in 2019 (semi-transparent, non-toxic and compostable packaging made from beer brewing waste), and Uzaje, created in Seine-Saint-Denis in 2019 (industrial monitoring and cleaning solutions to reuse packaging in the catering and food distribution sectors).

Palace, a start-up based in Nantes and specialized in the collaboration between start-ups and big groups, is responsible for the management of the organization. And in order to help the four winners go from the prototype to the industrial stage, a 9-month support program has been set up, piloted by Sodebo and Brioches Fonteneau, with customized support, individual or personalized coaching and workshops on communication and leadership.
