French apple growers offer a chance to adopt Pink Lady® trees

In the French town of Lunel (Hérault), apple grower Jean Nougaillac is offering local residents an opportunity to adopt trees from his Pink Lady orchard. The goal of this initiative is to familiarize consumers with the origin of the products and to meet local producers.

“The strength of Pink Lady® lies in its associative model, based on values that we defend on a daily basis, which are the respect of people, earth and time,” explains Didier Crabos, president of Pink Lady® Europe. “We produce an apple of excellence, recognizable among all others and whose qualities are praised by consumers and taste lovers!”

The apple growers producing Pink Lady apples are committed to eco-responsible orchards. The production of this variety requires substantial expertise. Pink Lady apples have the longest life cycle on the tree. The trees bloom at the end of March-beginning of April and the harvest takes place at the end of October-beginning of November.

In France, it can be found in three production basins, In the southeast, the basin spreads over 10 departments (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Hautes-Alpes, Ardèche, Bouches-du-Rhône, Drôme, Gard, Hérault, Isère, Rhône, Vaucluse).

In order to adopt a tree, all you have to do is visit the following website: https://www.adopteunarbre-pinklady.fr. For 7 months, the participants will receive updates about their tree and the orchard, as well as a photo of their name attached to the adopted tree. At the time of the harvest, they will be invited to visit the orchards to pick apples directly from the tree they’ve adopted.
