The priority period to participate begins on March 17 and will run until April 22

Fruit Attraction to take place face-to-face again on October 5, 6 and 7

Fruit Attraction, organized by IFEMA and FEPEX, is planned to be held face-to-face again from October 5 to 7 in Madrid. The event will thus be a commercial reunion for the fruit and vegetable sector precisely in 2021, the International Year of Fruits and Vegetables, as declared by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

The Organizing and Advisory Committee of Fruit Attraction, which met last Thursday via videoconference, has started to work on this face-to-face edition, which will be enhanced and complemented with the LIVEConnect digital platform, which was launched in 2020 as a new working instrument and which will be operational from next May. With this, the fair will bring the entire fruit and vegetable community together 365 days a year.

During the meeting of the Organizing and Advisory Committee, the director of the show, Raúl Calleja, confirmed that “the fair's activity at IFEMA will begin this March with an ambitious health safety strategy. The institution has implemented a protocol with all the necessary measures to manage the flow of attendees and their mobility, controlling the number of visitors and the interpersonal distances, keeping a digital record, checking body temperatures and ensuring good air circulation in the pavilions.”

For his part, the president of FEPEX and the Organizing Committee of Fruit Attraction, Jorge Brotons, said to be committed to the fair and to its celebration in person, noting that the event remains the main instrument for promotion in the fruit and vegetable sector. The goal is to facilitate trade between all actors in the value chain.

The period to register as an exhibitor at Fruit Attraction 2021 will run from March 17 to April 22, which will be the first priority deadline. In May, space-selection meetings will be held telematically and, subsequently, the online Participation Application will remain active.

In 2020, Fruit Attraction held its 12th edition telematically through the LIVEConnect platform. Between October 1 and 31, this new professional social network brought almost 7,000 members together, facilitating the making of more than 15,000 professional contacts, with 40,814 messages exchanged, more than 500 meetings held within the platform and 186 video calls. Therefore, in 2021, the face-to-face edition will be complemented by Fruit Attraction LIVEConnect, which will remain operational from next May until the end of the year.
