STM BIO specializes in the production and marketing of organic products from the Roussillon plateau. The company offers a wide and deep range of organic products including stone fruit, pome fruit, (ratatouille) vegetables, as well as other local and seasonal fruit and vegetables.

The productions are located in the Roussillon plateau like in Ille-sur-Têt, with the logistics platform in Perpignan, near the Saint-Charles market.

On the current market
STM BIO is doing great for the first quarter of 2021 and is experiencing a strong growth. “January is always a relatively good month depending on the weather. Consumption then slows down slightly in February with the school holidays and we are currently between two seasons, with the end of the winter products and the spring that has not arrived yet. The heart of our activity is from March until October,” explains Michael Sanchez Escriva, Business Development Manager at STM BIO.

Organic Fennel 

Developing ethical and sustainable partnerships with other origins
In addition to its range, STM BIO is developing ethical and sustainable partnerships with other origins at the local level, through a group of producers, as well as in other French production basins, especially in the southwest and in Brittany.

For the more exotic products, the company turns to Italy, Spain and Portugal where it wants to develop a “local production” and favors a varietal and taste selection (citrus fruits, avocados, bananas from the Canary Islands). “Our goal goes beyond organic sales. We grow and market products and varieties from recognized exceptional terroirs.”

STM, like Samir, Tristan and Matthieu, has three producers and partners at the head of the company. The marketing part of the structure was created only 2 years ago but in terms of production, STM BIO has been, above all, a family adventure in the Roussillon plateau for three generations. “We have land that is being converted progressively and then passed on to the next generations.”

An expansion project is also underway for STM BIO, which will result in about 30 hectares of clean production by the end of 2021, with a plan to reach 100 hectares of organic productions by 2022/23.
