Water is necessary for vegetables to thrive. Grob Gemüse AG in Schlattingen has yet yet another function for water: thermal water from deep underground is used to heat their greenhouses. After a trial phase, this should now work long-term. The company has applied for a concession, the Tagblatt reports.

This should allow the company to use groundwater for heating purposes for the next 30 years. As the Cantonal Office for the Environment wrote in a press release, the application is open to the public until March 17.
