Digitalization takes flight

Increased interest in quality inspection software

Digitalization of processes continues to gain popularity as it increases efficiencies and saves time as well as money. Anton Alibekov, owner of Zofto Solutions explains how he got into the digitalization business and what software solutions his company offers.

“I’ve always had a love for computers,” he shared. “From game computers, to operating systems, to software. When I was 20 years old, I started an online business that required me to learn how to do programming. Over the years, I expanded my programming expertise and hobby projects started turning into paid projects. That’s when I decided to start Zofto Solutions.”

Digital reports for any produce company
After having received a large inquiry from an asparagus grower, Alibekov developed an electronic inventory system, receipt reports, as well as quality control software. That company has been using the software daily for the past six years. “I realized this solution could be applied to other companies in the fresh produce industry as well.” That’s when, together with a business partner, Zofto Solutions was established. Since then, the company has further developed its range of solutions and is now able to translate each type of report digitally within minutes, for any produce company. This means no longer filling out paperwork and scanning it before it can be sent on. Zofto Solutions is able to digitalize all these processes, saving customers a lot of time. “In addition, our software solutions allow the client to access all information through one portal,” Alibekov mentioned.

Quality inspection software is most popular
So far, clients have mostly been interested in Zofto’s quality inspection software. Let’s say a pallet with melons arrives at the distribution center and needs to be inspected for quality. “Based on the observations the inspector fills out, our software automatically calculates the percentage of product that doesn’t meet the quality standard. In addition, at any point in time, a photo can be taken of the defect product, automatically adding it to the report.” USDA quality standards are used to evaluate quality, but 90 percent of Zofto’s clients opt for a custom report that mirrors the way inspections were done previously.

All reports are stored in one location that users instantly have access to. Customers no longer need to search for reports in their emails, but everything is saved in one easy-to-access location. One other feature Alibekov wants to highlight, is the option of calculating the average results of the last ten reports for instance. With that information, a company is able to determine the average quality of the supplier’s last ten loads.
