NL: Rovema takes over inno-tech, Prins Verpakkingstechniek and Prins Engineering

The Dutch company, Rovema, acquired three other businesses on 1 March. It took over inno-tech and Prins Verpakkingstechniek + Engineering (abbreviated to Prins). In doing so, it's strengthening its expertise in stainless steel machines and new packaging machine applications.

It can also address new client groups. This merger enables Rovema not only to acquire well-trained specialists. The company also gains production space. This is right near its main production site in Fernwald, Germany. The Rovema group will absorb all the employees at the Reiskirchen (DE) and Veenendaal (NL) locations.

inno-tech is based in Reiskirchen, Germany. This company specializes in vertical, stainless steel packaging machines. These are used in the food industry or for technical applications. At present, Europe is its top market. It focuses on frozen goods and large packages production, e.g., for spices and pet food. That makes inno-tech a suitable addition to the Rovema product portfolio.

These strengths will be further expanded in the Rovema network. That will be done in close cooperation with Sebastian Klein. He's inno-tech's experienced managing director. "Rovema's take over means we're now included in the Haniel Group. This is a fantastic opportunity for inno-tech to grow further internationally. It also offers us more security, certainly for the long-term, but for the future too," says Klein.

The production space in Reiskirchen is earmarked for manufacturing and assembling stainless steel machines. This will enable the optimization of production techniques. The facility is also very close to Rovema's headquarters in Fernwald.

Rovema Benelux's take-over of Prins means Rovema has achieved full market penetration in this region. Rovema Benelux Managing Director, Christel Geerts is at the helm. She'll ensure that a special focus on sales and service competence will complement the company's core business.

Rovema GmbH Managing Director Jens Torkel adds, "inno-tech and Prins allow us to strengthen our sales and service competence further. inno-tech are experts in the field of stainless steel machinery."

"That will support us in our further development as well as in new markets. We want to keep growing and developing. Expanding our portfolio expansion and the additional production space are important factors in this. As are well-trained specialists."

The sustainability aspect is also crucial for long-term commercial success. Consumers are increasingly interested in sustainable packaging solutions. For packaging machine manufacturers, that offers excellent opportunities for differentiation. They can come up with entirely new packaging concepts. And they can develop new market segments. Vertical packaging offers a variety of ways to save resources, such as packaging materials.

"Sustainable food packaging depends very much on competent employees. They must recognize and technically implement opportunities in good time. We're, therefore, looking forward to combining our competencies with inno-tech and Prins. That will further expand our network," says Torkel.

Rovema can maintain machines for many years. They also reclaim, refurbish, and resell second-hand machines. The company has supplied more than 30,000 machines and lines all over the world already. With more than 600 employees worldwide, Roveman generated approximately €100 million in revenue in 2019.
