Poland wants to approach Gulf Cooperation Council through Dubai for apple exports

The Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, colloquially known as the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) is a regional intergovernmental political and economic union consisting of all Arab states of the Persian Gulf - Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates - except for Iraq.

Poland expects trade with the UAE will increase as it looks to enter the GCC apple markets through Dubai. Karolina Kaminska, project manager at the Association of Polish Distributors of Fruits and Vegetables: "Poland exports about 400 containers of apples to Dubai every year. We are focused on the UAE market now but there are good opportunities to expand to other Gulf countries as well. The UAE is an open gate for trade with regional countries. Exports of apple from Poland to Dubai will go up because quality of our apple is improving with every passing year.”

She told menafn.com the UAE is known for importing top quality food from across the globe and it is a big challenge which Polish and Europeans apple exporters try to maintain as well.

"We started exploring the UAE market from 2014 and this is our second promotional campaign here. Distributors from the UAE want to buy popular variety of like Gala Golden and Red Apple. We know this market very well now and have a lot of distributors from here who import apples from Poland and Europe," she stated.
