Preparations for the arrival in Spain of thousands of seasonal workers in times of COVID

With the start of the harvest of strawberries and other berries, thousands of seasonal workers are traveling from Morocco to the Andalusian fields. A total of 14,000 workers are expected to arrive. However, the current situation is forcing them to have a negative CRP test in order to enter Spain; in fact, many of them had to stay in their country precisely because they had tested positive.

In Aragon, the fruit harvest campaign will start in April. Growers are publicly announcing that there won't be jobs for everyone, and they want to avoid a situation like last year's.

They will work in crews, who will sleep together to avoid contact. Each worker will carry a kind of COVID Identification Card, with data about the company hiring them and their accommodation, thereby making it easier to keep infections under control.
