This series gives the average wholesale prices of fruit and vegetables, as well as bananas by country of origin. The prices are national averages of the most usual prices charged for bananas at wholesale markets in Birmingham and London. This publication is updated weekly.
Average prices of Gala apples collected from various national wholesale markets, currently Birmingham, Manchester, London (either New Spitalfields or Western International Market) and Bristol stood at £1.00, down 4%. The Cox's orange group sold for £1.45, down 5%. while Braeburns, at £0.95 / kg, stayed at the same level as last week.
All prices are in pounds (£) per kg.
