Last year, Uzbekistan exported 7,100 tons of lemons for a total of $8.6 million. According to the State Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, lemon exports were mainly going to Russia (3,400 tons), Kazakhstan (2,100 tons), Kyrgyzstan (1,500 tons), Afghanistan (87.7 tons), and Ukraine (20.6 tons).
The Top-5 regional leaders in terms of export volumes for this type of citrus fruit in 2020 were Fergana (2,000 tons), Tashkent (1,300 tons), Namangan (1,000 tons), Andijan (500.3 tons), and Khorezm (414.8 tons). The remaining regional areas that followed were Surkhandarya (392.5 tons), Syrdarya (335.2 tons), Tashkent city (273.4 tons), Navoi (238.9 tons) and Samarkand (202.5 tons).
East-fruit.com reports that at the end of last year, the volume of fruit and vegetable exports as a whole amounted to 1.48 million tons and exceeded $1.01 billion in terms of value.
