The 'Futura Central Asia' facility in Uzbekistan is practically ready

"The new Futura Central Asia facility will be inaugurated by the end of May in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. It will follow commercial operations for all central Asian countries thanks to an office, three collaborators and a spare part and customer assistance center," reports Omar Papi, general manager of Futura, a company that manufactures processing lines and exports them all over the world.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, 2020 was a difficult year and "companies such as ours, which normally export on a global level, have had to get organized and find new solutions not only on a commercial level, but mainly for installation and commissioning in order to provide the high-quality service our customers are used to."

"Although we are a medium-sized company, over 80% of our sales volume is made abroad, 60% outside of the EU. We try to follow with more attention the markets where our products are most suitable. We are present directly in around 12 countries, including the entire CIS, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan as well as Iran, Azerbaijan, India, Pakistan, Egypt, Kenya, South Africa and even Australia and Peru."

"We are proud to announce that the new Futura Central Asia facility will be inaugurated in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, by May 2021. It will follow the commercial operations for all countries in central Asia."

Futura was already heavily "digitalized" and used to programming and planning all activities down to the tiniest detail.

"Without sounding presumptuous, adapting our production to the new world needs was not so 'dramatic'. Our technical service is already available in many of the areas where we operate. In addition, all our systems are managed and monitored remotely thanks to the Futura Smart Grading application. What was new in 2020 is the fact that we made a series of tutorial videos for assembly, testing and training. These new tools, combined with the usual technical documents (assembly drawings, user and maintenance manuals), provided our local teams with excellent support."

Thanks to these integrations, Futura assistance centers in Spain, Greece, South Africa, Russia, Uzbekistan and Iran managed to assemble and test all lines sold without particular problems.

"Of course, for all countries where there is no local technical assistance service, installation was performed directly by our specialists: each client is important for us, wherever in the world it may be."

"As for the 2020 turnover, we are proud to confirm the growth trend. But what makes us even more proud is the fact that we have delivered, installed and commissioned all our systems without delay, which is even more important if we consider that we work in a seasonal sector."

"Our new grading and packaging lines for small fruits such as cherries and cherry tomatoes will be ready by the end of 2021."

"Having said this, 2021 will not be 'easy' as the purchase of our systems requires long-term planning and this wave of global pessimism is not good. We have noticed how many investment decisions are being postponed."

"The government will definitely set our new incentives for investments, as announced by our new prime minister."
