Xianfeng organized the third annual Chinese New Year Fruit Festival on the fourth of February. Xianfeng became a leading company in the Hangzhou fruit market through SaaS and App technology. The company managed to grow by 17% despite the pandemic. Xianfeng now has more than 2,000 stores in 19 provinces and cities. The companies has major brands, including Xianfeng Fruit, OK Fruit Orchard, Fruit Wharf, Fresh Fruit Wharf, and Yang Fruit Store.
Constructing the "fruit industry internet"
Feng Dexin, vice-president of Xianfeng, explained that the fruit industry has many segments. The supply chain is lengthy. And there is a lot of waste along the way. Focusing on stores alone is not going to help the fruit industry develop any further. The solution, according to Xianfeng, is to open up the supply chain and create a transparent "fruit industry internet". This internet forms the basis for the digitization of China's fruit industry. Chairman of the board, Han Shuren, exclaimed last year that "digitization depends on personnel."
According to him, people changed their consumption patterns during the pandemic. Consumers have higher standards for product quality and food safety. That is why the supply chain needs to meet higher standards as well. Specialized supply chain service platforms will occupy an important position in the future fruit market.
The Xianfeng cold supply chain system already includes WMS (Warehouse Management System) for workflow coordination as well as TMS (Transport Management System). These systems help visualize transport from the production area to the transshipment warehouse to the final storage facilities. The Chinese fruit industry is a trillion dollar industry. Not a single company occupies more than 1% of the market. Xianfeng aims to bring this entire industry into the digital age and support the supply chain from beginning to end.
