According to the president of the Inform@cción consulting firm, Fernando Cilloniz Benavides, Peru has exported 155,794 tons of blueberries in the 2020/21 campaign so far (from July to January), i.e. 34% more than in the same period of the previous season.
La Libertad is the country's main blueberry producing and exporting region, followed by Ica.
The country's blueberry shipments, by month, are as following:
July 2020: 5,000 tons (2,300 tons in July 2019).
August 2020: 20,500 tons (11,500 tons in August 2019).
September 2020: 34,500 tons (21,000 tons in September 2019).
October 2020: 47,626 tons (31,838 tons in the same month of 2019).
November 2020: 31,157 tons (27,749 tons in the same month of 2019).
December 2020: 11,274 tons (16,000 tons in the same month of 2019).
January 2021: 5,738 tons (5,505 tons in January 2020).
