The Dutch company, Harvest House, has issued a warning to fellow fruit and vegetable businesses. Scammers are abusing the names Harvest House and Rainbow International B.V. "There's a company called Rainbow Import Export B.V., which is a Rainbow Holding B.V. subsidiary," says Harvest House's commercial director Yvonne Geurten.
"They're ordering fruit to be delivered. Both companies are registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce. Their office is registered in Amsterdam. The import-export company also has a VAT number. The holding company is a director of the import-export company."
"These companies have a forged guarantee from Rainbow International B.V. They used this to substantiate their financial soundness," Yvonne continues. "Payments weren't forthcoming, so someone contacted Rainbow International. We're aware of the situation. The suppliers and transporters involved, too, know they've been swindled."
"We want to warn others. And we want to make it clear - Harvest House and Rainbow International B.V. regret that our company names are being used for these kinds of practices. We're going to report this to the police. We've already reported the matter to the credit insurers," concludes Yvonne.
