The Association of Belgian Horticultural Cooperatives reports that on January 1st, 2021 there are still 79,164 tons of apples and 237,862 tons of pears stored in Belgian cold stores.
Compared to last year, there are 34.2% fewer apples and 36.4% more pears being stockpiled. Only in 2018 were there as few apples (21,851 tons) stockpiled as on January 1st. The pear stock hasn't been this high since 2018. Only 2019 comes close with 230,939 tons.
