Finò

Fennel quantities increase by 20%

As reported by owners Marco Babbi and Vittorio Caligari, Finò confirms the growth it had hoped for at the start of the year despite the heavy market of the last month and registers a 20% increase in quantities processed compared to 2019.

"We knew that the new facility would improve flows and efficiency, but we had no idea just how much. The figures are clear: we have increased the quantity of fennel processed by 20% despite slowdown of the past month. Our added value is the fact that we specialize in this product: over the years, this meant we have gained the trust of retail chains all over Europe."

Finò produces fennel in Italy alone and commercializes it abroad as well. "At the moment, however, everybody is waiting both in Italy and Europe - consumption has halted and even a product such as ours is affected. In 2021, we will maintain the quantities of 2020: we plan for our producers, although we cannot foresee how the market will be."

Caligari&Babbi is also a producer. In addition to its own around 25 hectares of fennel, there are another 500 hectares cultivated by partners in the most suitable areas in Italy.

"Experience, research and knowledge are at the basis of fennel production. The same variety can lead to extremely different results depending on the latitude and agronomic techniques. We work with partners from whom we have been collecting produce for years and who hold certifications based on our requirements."

"We would like to wish everyone - our partners, suppliers and clients - Happy Holidays despite the current situation, and we are hopeful things will improve shortly."
