Kesar mango to be branded as Maha Kesar

Maharashtra Kesar mango cultivating farmers have joined efforts to brand the fruit as Maha Kesar after the successful branding of Happus (Alphonso). The Kesar mango is cultivated on 15,000 hectares of land in the region. The size of the fruit is small. That is why industry participants are trying to increase its weight up till 250 grams and market it in the country or for export by branding it as Maha Kesar.

A chain of production, including cultivators, sellers and exporters, will be developed.

The thought of branding the Kesar mango came during nine webinars and social media groups discussions conducted in the lockdown period. We would also conduct several programmes, including Mango festivals, to promote the fruit.
