"European Art of Taste project: Italian Fruit & Veg Masterpieces" goes to Beijing

Italy is widely known and appreciated for its fresh high-quality produce and culinary creativity. The European Art of Taste project: Italian Fruit & Veg Masterpieces, a promotion project co-sponsored by the European Union and CSO Italy, was rolled out in 2019 in the Asian market (Japan, China and Taiwan) to build the recognition and convey the value of excellent fresh produce from Europe, especially Italy. This project will cover a period of three years and we are now into the second year.

Recently, a tasting dinner under the framework of this project took place in Riva Cafe & Restaurant in Beijing. Through a video conference during the event, CSO Italy members Ceradini, Jingold, Origine, RK Growers, Joinfruit, Mazzoni, Oranfrizer and Conserve Italia showcased their kiwi fruit, frozen fruit puree, Sicilian blood oranges, orange juice, and tomato sauce. Chef Fabio thoughtfully also put together an exclusive menu for guests to taste the gift of nature from Italy.

The European Art of Taste project: Italian Fruit & Veg Masterpieces

Thanks to its unique climate and geographical environment, Italy is the largest exporter of fruits and vegetables in Europe. CSO Italy focuses on promoting the export of kiwi, blood orange, pear, orange juice and other juices as well as frozen fruit puree. Italy is also the world's second-largest producer of kiwifruit, ranking second only to China. It is also home to the Sicilian blood orange, a unique variety native to the country.

In addition to fruits and vegetables, this project also showcases freshly processed vegetables from Italy, including tomato sauce that is widely known around the globe.
