Village Farms has introduced its newest exclusive tomato variety, Sensational Sara®.
Sensational Sara® is a novel tomato variety with a deep red color inside and out. The flavor is best described as a balance of sugar to acid ratio. The tomato is bigger than a cocktail but smaller than a TOV with a sturdy, vibrant green vine and could be thought of as the combination of its Delectable TOV® and Sinfully Sweet Campari® varieties.
Sensational Sara® is harvested by hand and picked and packed on-the-vine for maximum flavor, growing with 6 to 7 fruit per truss. The tomato is also sustainably grown in the company’s indoor hydroponic glass greenhouse gardens.
Versatile product
As a slicing tomato handy for sandwiches or salads, the tomato is also a cooking tomato that could be roasted, grilled, sautéed or sauced to experience the complex flavor. (Though her pure flavor is best experienced when roasted, grilled, or sautéed.) The shelf-life for Sensational Sara® is 21 days.
