The use of herbicides is more and more considered as a last resort, as the public opinion considers them as the "root of all evil". Mechanical weeding is therefore becoming popular once again. Calderoni is perfecting its inter-row disc even more with a self-levelling system.
"Thanks to this system, the disc perfectly follows all the bumps in the ground. An orchard can never be flat-leveled as, over the years, many different bumps form due to processing. This is why such a disc enables precise cutting," explains Alessandro Calderoni.
The unique cutting system cleans trunks perfectly, entirely avoiding the use of chemical herbicides. The machine can also work on hilly grounds, as it adapts thanks to its various hydraulic pistons. What is more, the machine is equipped with a powerful hydraulic system than enables the cutting of even the more resistant weeds.
The width of the main row cutter can be varied according to company needs. There can be even two discs to perform row and under-the-canopy cuts in a single operation, if the layout allows it. The disc moves very quickly and the rubber coating prevents damage to the trunk. The machine can also be mounted to the tractor front lifter.
