"At La Costiera, the lemon campaign started between late September and early October with Primofiore from Sicily. This year, in addition to the classic traditional lemon range, we have introduced a new packaging format - a cardboard punnet containing two fruits weighing 300 g," explains export manager, Valentina Sanna.
"This new solution was welcomed with great enthusiasm by the big retail chains, especially since the appealing format pushes sales."

The search for new packaging solutions and the processing and commercialization of high-quality produce are the points of strength of the company. Everybody knows it for its lemons, but La Costiera also commercializes other citrus fruit such as oranges, bergamots from Calabria and cedars from Calabria and Sorrento, albeit in lower volumes.

"We also commercialize traditional oranges and, for this campaign, we introduced an organic orange range available for both the Italian and foreign market. We have only handled small quantities so far, but have started working with these products to meet market demand."
"With the arrival of the cold temperatures, citrus fruit has a better color and overall quality. The PGI lemon from Sorrento campaign will start in January."
