Bolthouse Farms continues its year of giving with holiday initiatives

This holiday season, Bolthouse Farms – whose mission is Plants Powering People – is once again acting on its commitment to support those in need in the communities it serves across the U.S.

In 2020 amid the global pandemic, the company has amplified its giving efforts donating close to $3.1 million in fresh carrots, beverages, dressings and monetary donations so far this year. With the holidays upon us and the hunger crisis affecting so many more this year, Bolthouse Farms is rolling out initiatives across the US with local community non-profits as well as national organizations like Feeding America and food banks nationwide.

“Our long-term commitment to fighting hunger has become even more important during the pandemic, and especially during this very different holiday season,” said Bill Levisay, President, Bolthouse Farms. “Our giving efforts this season start in our own backyard and stretch across North America, with a focus on delivering healthy, fresh food to those in need.”

Key initiatives this holiday season include:

  • Local food bank donations: On Giving Tuesday 12/1 - Bolthouse Farms made a $10K donation to food banks in Bakersfield, Calif., Hodgkins, Ill., and Prosser, Wash. to support their efforts in feeding the hungry this season. They are encouraging employees to make donations to the three food banks as well which include Community Action Partnership of Kern (CapK), Greater Chicago Food Depository and Feeding Washington/2nd Harvest.
  • Local canned food drives for Thanksgiving: At each of its locations, Bolthouse Farms collected donations of canned food items, which were delivered to local organizations in need (Bakersfield Homeless Center, Beds Plus in Chicago and Boys and Girls club of Prosser). Bakersfield alone collected more than 2,500 non-perishable goods.
  • Adopt a Family: In Bakersfield, Bolthouse Farms is again partnering with The Bakersfield Homeless Center to adopt a family this holiday season. Recognizing the increased need this year, the brand will be providing gifts for about 25 families, up from 20 in previous years.
  • Navidad en el barrio: Bolthouse is joining the ALC to support Navidad En El Barrio, an organization that provides a Christmas dinner to thousands of the neediest Southern California families. Bolthouse is helping collect food donations to be utilized in dinner baskets and delivered on Dec. 12.

In addition, Bolthouse Farms donates food weekly to the local communities, ensuring food is always provided regardless of season.
