Chinese Hami melons from Hainan sell better than last year

Hainan in China enjoys a tropical climate. The province is surrounded by the sea on all four sides and receives plenty of sunshine, so that the temperature is always high. These are ideal conditions for the growth of Hami melons. The Chinese production volume of Hami melons has steadily grown in the last few years. The Hainan Hami melons have a thinner rind than melons from other production areas, their pattern is more distinct, and the sugar content is higher. They are also easier to store.

"Our Hami melons come from Hainan. The plantation covers an area of around 73 hectares. The main melon varieties include Snow Honey and Western Honey. The supply season begins every year in November, if the weather conditions are regular, and continues until May in the subsequent year. The current production season has already begun. Current conditions are smooth. Supply proceeds without difficulty. Furthermore, the product quality of Hami melons is great this year because weather conditions were stable last year. The sugar content is relatively high this year. The current market price is almost 30% higher than around this time last year." This is according to Mr. Bai of Dalian Nongchang International Trade Co., Ltd.

Dalian Nongchang International Trade participated in Foodex Japan in 2017, and received much praise for its Hami melons
