The Chilean blueberry season continues to advance with predominant volumes from the northern zone where a good advance of the harvest is observed and where the peak of the season has already passed. While in the central zone the advance is more calm given the moderate temperatures observed in recent weeks according to iqonsulting.. The central zone is timidly starting, mainly with orchards under tunnel, while the fields in the open are already being incorporated although with a slow progress, also associated with the effect of moderate temperatures.
The accumulated exports up to week 45 total 2,776 tons, 15% more than the previous season on the same date, with North America being the main destination market with 63% of the volumes accumulated to date. This is due to the high participation of organic blueberries in shipments from Chile in this part of the season and which are mainly destined to this market. Until week 45, organics add up to 1,532 tons, 55% of the total exported. The Far East follows in importance with a 32% share and a growth of 41% compared to the same week of the previous season, where Korea stands out as the most dynamic in terms of growth.
