Dutch company has new light-weight PP buckets

Poorthuis Packaging, in the Netherlands, has developed a light-weight PP bucket. It can be used for products like snack tomatoes. The buckets have gaps in their sides. That reduces plastic use by 25%. It has a 100% R-PET lid and is suitable for 500g of tomatoes. The container can get a cardboard lid if used for 400g of tomatoes. Then, 45% less plastic is used.

Weighing 21g, the packaging is considerably lighter than current PP snack tomato buckets. During the preliminary phase, the company gave a lot of consideration to the correct hole pattern. For example, the tomatoes' shelf life was tested, as was the bucket's stability.

Branding
The holes have been spaced out around the container. There is, therefore, enough room to place the necessary information and design on the bucket. Both In-Mould-Labeling (IML) and Offset printing can be applied to this new container. There are no volume restrictions, and this bucket is available immediately.
