"We are currently developing a new colour measuring system with artificial intelligence

For more than 30 years, Agrosta has been developing innovative technologies for the fruit and vegetable sector around the world. Whether it is to determine the firmness of berries or the colour, texture and elasticity of other fruits or vegetables, Agrosta offers a wide range of products to suit every need.

Although Agrosta has been able to develop a lot thanks to the blueberry market, the company wants to expand its know-how and technologies to other fruit and vegetables. “The consumption of blueberries is becoming more common and prices are falling as a result. Our customers in this field are innovating and are getting bigger and tastier blueberries. However, this market has grown and it is time for Agrosta to look for other growth sources for itself. We will be dealing with mango, apple and tomato and are currently developing a new colorimeter that integrates artificial intelligence,” explains Agrosta CEO Laurent Klotz.

A wide range of products
"Agrosta Belle is our general texture meter, which is used in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic sector as well as in the food sector, particularly in the fruit and vegetable sector." For each measured sample, Agrosta Belle supplies and processes masses of data. Agrosta Belle also provides information about indicators such as firmness, elasticity and shape.

“The Agrosta Winterwood and Agrosta 100 series is based on the Durofel measurement. With the help of the Durofel measurement, the firmness of berries and soft fruit can be easily determined. The Agrosta Wonderfast, FTA and Agrosta 14 devices are intended for taking measurements for top fruit and citrus. ”

Agrosta has also developed a colorimeter that can be used alone or in combination with the above devices. The colour measuring system has been specially developed for the fruit and vegetable sector and quickly delivers comprehensible and useful data.

"The big advantage of our tools is that they are open source"
Agrosta's instruments and machines are developed on the basis of open source technologies, and therefore constantly follow the latest technologies. “The software for Windows developed by Agrosta contains new functionalities every year. Our latest software version includes a light version of Excel, eliminating the need for users to have Excel in their workplace. In addition, we make massive use of 3D printing and laser cutting in the production of our instruments. All improvements resulting from customer comments can therefore be implemented immediately ”.

The company specializes in the physical characterization of maturation parameters: texture, colour, size and weight. Agrosta started this in the 1980s under the name Agro Technology.
