Most Sicilian orange producers are completing the final, finishing touches before operations fully start, although the first negotiations have already begun. Donnalia, one of the most elegant brands of the Italian citrus fruit cultivation world, thanks to its refined packaging and excellent production, is no exception.
New packaging for online sales
The past season, which ended in May, was rather peculiar but prices were satisfactory. This year too looks like it is going to be a bit out of the ordinary. The previous campaign ended early, but it helped make up for past losses: just remember the flooding of October 2018 which destroyed many productions and new groves in eastern Sicily. Sales in spring 2020 were lively due to Covid, as consumers looked for products with a high vitamin C content to strengthen their immune system.
"It looks like the 2020/21 season is going to be rather hectic too, considering how the situation has worsened. However, unlike the past campaign, we should have 30% more produce. Fruits are looking good when it comes to organoleptic properties, but grades are below the standard of the past season."
