Avojoy supplies premium avocados to supermarkets, retailers, hospitality industry suppliers, wholesalers, restaurants, and the foodservice and catering sectors. Carel van Krimpen, who owns this Dutch company, says, "Despite the tension on the market, avocado trade has, luckily, continued well. It's been a few weeks since we introduced Avojoy's premium avocados. We're extremely grateful for the good start."
Avojoy tries to respond as well as possible to current trends. Certainly in these turbulent times. "The demand for avocados is increasing. There's a huge trend in home deliveries. Many restaurants are trying to keep their heads above water. So, they're switching to offering take-ways. We've noticed they're shifting gears faster."
"They're also in a slightly more positive mood," observes Carel. "They immediately put their shoulders to the wheel. That's great to see. Restaurants are coming up with new initiatives and are offering different dishes. Sushi, for example, is becoming increasingly popular. That's partly due to its high profit margin. That's reflected in avocado sales."
Avojoy likes brainstorming about how they can support businesses, especially now. "We talk to many business owners and hear how they're struggling. We discuss it and see where we can help. For instance, we supply avocados that ripen differently, so they keep for longer. We're flexible when it comes to deliveries. And we personally deliver the avocados to our clients. In this way, we keep in touch. And we know exactly what's going on. So, we deliver high-quality products, in response to a changing world," Carel concludes.
