The company Plasticband, a leader in the sustainable production of machinery and consumables for packaging in Spain, has launched the first environmentally-friendly and recyclable strap in Europe, made 100% from recycled material: the Eco 245 strap.
"We have designed this product with the utmost respect for people and the planet," says Jordi Guimet, CEO of Plasticband. "The Eco 245 strap is the result of our commitment to innovation and constant research to create products that offer maximum safety and minimum environmental impact."
The new strap offers long durability to sun exposure and a resistance to breaking load of 245 kg, 20% higher than that of conventional strap of the same size. It is designed for manual, mechanical and friction strapping machines.
Plasticband has invested 7 years in the ambitious project of running one of the greenest production plants in Europe, with the ultimate goal of achieving zero environmental impact. The manufacturing process of this solution is carried out with solar energy and the company's plant in Granollers reuses 100% of the rainwater with the aim of reducing its environmental impact and CO₂ emissions.
"Even the waste generated during the production process is recycled in our plant and we convert it back into straps, thus contributing to a circular economy," says Guimet.
