Platano de Canarias will be the official fruit of La Vuelta, Spain's most important cycling event, for the second consecutive year. Due to the health crisis produced by COVID-19, La Vuelta will be held from October 20 to November 8. This will allow Platano de Canarias to support the most country's most important cycling event and disseminate the nutritional benefits of bananas; a fruit that is recommended for any athlete's diet due to its high energy content, potassium that contributes to the functioning of muscles, and vitamin B6, which promotes recovery after sports practice.

This year, cyclists and fans won't be able to taste the Platanos de Canarias' product due to the social restrictions derived from the health crisis. However, the brand will be present during all stages of La Vuelta, both in the race and for the fans who follow it on television, as a way of accompanying athletes and consumers and restoring the trust placed in the product in these years; especially during the last difficult months of this year.

"Platano de Canarias has a very close link with the national sport and being the official fruit of La Vuelta is the perfect mix between physical activity and consumption of a natural product that is so beneficial to health. Platano de Canarias' goal is to promote healthy lifestyle habits. La Vuelta is a great showcase to disseminate this purpose," stated the president of ASPROCAN, Domingo Martín Ortega.
