Release of Direct-to-Consumer mobile produce app

A new direct-to-consumer app for produce will be hitting the market next month. Flavor Wave LLC., an initiative from produce veterans Michael Chavez and Patrick Kelly, brings an innovative concept into the produce industry space. The app will encompass customer produce box ordering, fulfillment, and delivery to the consumer in one mobile application.

Flavor Wave’s innovative technology brings a new model to the trending Direct-to-Consumer vertical within the produce industry. The application will be available for download in early November and boasts unique product innovation and service. During this global pandemic, the food supply chain has been disrupted with restaurants, bars, and the general food service industry being scaled back or shut off completely in regions. With that demand being diverted to home cooking, many businesses within the produce industry have pivoted to various solutions to capture the consumer demand. Chavez and Kelly decided to build an app that brings service and delivery in a way that has yet to be seen in any produce delivery space. They combined their produce chain knowledge to bring the next big thing into the produce industry.

The Flavor Wave Fresh application is launching the first pilot in the greater Miami, FL service area. The application provides a direct-to-consumer produce box delivery service. “The service is COVID-19 safe, as well as food safe to ensure customers receive safe and fresh product immediately,” Chavez pointed out. The app service includes its own driver network for logistic fulfillment to the consumer, so there is no hand off to another service for fulfillment. Kelly highlights the goal of the app’s driver network platform stating, “A private driver network within the app allows the service to offer the best possible price point to the consumer.” The fulfillment centers carry all produce items, from asparagus to zucchini, to ensure the menu items offered are always available to the customers when they order them. “Flavor Waves’ goal is to provide customers with produce that is Fresh, Fast, and Safe” states Chavez. Stay tuned for more detail and announcements about this new produce vertical coming to the market.
