Apples from Chinese county making debut in Thailand

A ceremony that marks the initial shipment of 100 tons of apples from Huangling County, Shaanxi Province to Thailand took place in this county on October 10th, signifying the debut in the international market.

This year, Huangling County has taken measures to accelerate the transformation and upgrade of the apple industry, enhance its competitiveness in the international market, meet the market demand for high-quality fruit, and drive the development of related industries such as processing, packaging, storage, transportation, and high-quality orchard construction. At the same time, the county initiated a project to build a cold chain logistics industry center, as well as taking measures to develop a new industrial chain of "export + logistics + base" and a corporate profit sharing model, in order to bring the industry in line with international standards and promote the fast and high-quality development of the fruit industry in this county.

Boasting ideal natural conditions, fertile soil, abundant water resources, and sufficient sunlight, Huangling is said to be one of the most suitable areas for growing high-quality apples in the world. With 68 years of development, fruit industry is the county's leading agricultural industry and the main income source for farmers. At present, there are 4 county-owned apple producers in the county, with 63,000 locals working in the industry, accounting for 73.2% of the county’s total agricultural population. The total area of ​​apples is 256,000 mu, of which the area in production is 220,000 mu. The yearly production of the county amounts to 360,000 tons.
