New survey released

How does the produce industry respond to consumer demands for sustainability?

Study after study outlines the growing importance of environmental sustainability among consumers. Food waste, package waste, carbon footprint and other sustainability-focused initiatives have become areas of cross-population interest, particularly in Europe. In the United States, too, consumer demand for sustainable options has risen over the years and many companies are working to meet these demands. Particularly surrounding sustainable packaging a lot is being done in the produce industry to move to more sustainable options.

Now, a new survey created by 210 Analytics is being released to collect high-level benchmarks to develop a report on the industry's response to the growing demand for sustainability. The survey is a short 5-minute survey to be completed online by following this link. Completion is entirely anonymous and participators can opt in to receive the benchmark report for free once the results are in. Additionally, the survey completion will provide 10 meals for families in need through a donation to Feeding America in partnership with Produce for Kids | Healthy Family Project.

Anne-Marie Roerink of 210 Analytics says: "We hope to understand the measures the produce industry is taking in response to this growing demand for sustainability. We hope to hear from everyone in the supply chain, from grower/shippers, wholesaler/distributors and retailers, all around the globe, to develop an understanding on where the produce industry is moving."
