Fruit Attraction hosting the Women's Forum

On October 14 and 15, the Women's Forum will be held within the framework of Fruit Attraction LiveConnect. It will be a space intended to help move forward in female leadership and balance within the agri-food sector in general, and the fruit and vegetable sector in particular, organized by Fruit Attraction and Siete Agromarketing.

The Women´s Forum has also been the stage chosen by the international fair, organized by IFEMA and FEPEX, to deliver an "Appreciation to the Woman of the Year Fruit Attraction - A Lifetime" on the 15th. The recipients will be Rocío Medina, Executive President of Grupo Medina, and Ana Hernández Buendía, Head of R & D & I in the Production Department of Grupo Hortofrutícola Paloma.

Executive President of Grupo Medina, with more than 30 years of professional experience. Grupo Medina is a leading family business in the Andalusian agri-food sector that launched its activity in 1958 and is currently in its third generation. The company was a pioneer in the development of strawberry cultivation in Andalusia in the 1960's and subsequently pioneered the introduction of kaki cultivation in Huelva. The group exports its products to more than 30 countries on five continents, with overseas destinations such as the United States, Canada, Brazil, Jordan, Saudi Arabia or India. A Law graduate, married, with two children and two grandchildren, Rocío Medina, has stood out for her tenacity, effort and her innovative and entrepreneurial nature.

Ana Hernández Buendía, Woman of the Year Appreciation FRUIT ATTRACTION- A whole life ahead
Agricultural Engineer; 34 years old. She has been working for ten years at Grupo Hortofrutícola Paloma (Murcia), where she is now Head of R + D + i in the Production Department. She is part of the third generation of a company that his grandfather founded in 1968, and today they export tomatoes, seedless grapes, peaches, nectarines and pomegranates to all of Europe, with more than 1,250 hectares of crops on the coastal strip between Águilas, Lorca and Mazarrón. Ana Hernández is developing new varieties of the various crops, is responsible for the calculation of the water and carbon footprint and is committed to consolidating the business and contributing to the implementation of a sustainable, dynamic agriculture based on the circular economy.
