MacroBin® 26 next generation bins available this fall

After nearly three decades, the industry standard MacroBin 26, commonly used for harvest of fruits and vegetables has been redesigned to incorporate the newest technology available. The 26 NG (Next Generation) utilizes updated design features to make it more effective and durable than ever before.

The new 26 bin features newly engineered reinforced columns allowing them to act as bumpers, absorbing and recoiling impact to reduce breakage and damage during tough harvests. An original cross pattern design in the base increases base strength which further reduces damage. The design creates a “bruise buffer zone” greatly reducing the bulging of bin walls so delicate produce will not suffer side impact.

The bin will be offered to growers and shippers in fully-vented and solid configurations. Drain holes have been added to the rim for easier and quicker drainage while increased ventilation in the sides and base allow for fast cooling of the produce. The injection molded, splinter-resistant plastic containers are manufactured with FDA-approved materials. The 26NG features smoother interior surfaces and rounded corners to reduce damage to produce as well as make the bin easier than ever to clean for increased sanitation.

“We are very excited about the latest addition to our MacroBin family of products.” states Todd Weitekamp, VP of Sales for IPL Macro, “At Macro we always strive to create products that help our customers as we continue to aim towards more sustainable supply chain solutions. Whether it be tough harvest conditions, new storage solutions, or shipping their produce worldwide, our newest MacroBin will help them achieve those things!”

Committed to reducing their impact on the environment, Macro offers 100% recyclable packaging. Macro strives to recover all their products at the end of their life, so they can be recycled and turned into other products and the investment has a high residual value.
