In preparation for the upcoming virtual PMA Fresh Summit, San Diego based Organics Unlimited is going down a long checklist to ensure that both the company and their visitors get the most out of the experience. “We’re busy preparing for the show right now, just like in previous years,” company President and CEO Mayra Velazquez de León shares. “Even though the industry won’t be gathering in Dallas as originally scheduled, there is still a long checklist that we’ve been focusing on getting ready for so that we have a successful show.”
As part of the preparations, Organic Unlimited is ensuring that they’ll have new connections as well as maintain their existing relationships. “We’re setting up meetings with prospective new buyers, making sure that we connect with our current customers, updating all necessary digital and sales materials for our booth as well as being available to interact with fellow PMA Fresh Summit attendees throughout the week of the virtual show,” Velazquez de León shares.
Building brand recognition and showing off product line
2020 is a special year for Organics Unlimited, as it is the year of the company’s 20th anniversary. At this year’s virtual Fresh Summit, Organics Unlimited will celebrate their anniversary by sharing their company’s vision with the attendees. Velazquez de León explains: “We will be sharing our vision of sustainability, which includes our fairly traded GROW organic bananas and environmentally responsible farming practices, as well as exciting new developments within our company.” The company, in addition to their virtual exhibit booth, will also have a video available for interested buyers to showcase their line of organic Cavendish bananas, coconuts, and plantains.
In addition to showing off their product line, Organics Unlimited also aims to build their brand recognition, find new business and sell more product at this year’s Fresh Summit. “If we can gain one new contract client from the show, then we’ll be very happy,” Velazquez de León says. “Our expectations are that buyers and produce industry personnel that normally attend the show in-person will still participate this year. It could even be an opportunity to get more people involved with PMA Fresh Summit in some capacity as product logistics and travel costs will not be a factor in a virtual show setting,” she adds.
Looking forward to the show
While the show’s format has adjusted to reflect the current global situation, the company is still looking forward to exhibiting. “We fully support PMA’s decision to host a virtual Fresh Summit in 2020, as it’s the safest thing for everyone during a global pandemic. Expanded opportunities to connect with potential new buyers and the ability to virtually reconnect with our current customers are things we look forward to. PMA Fresh Summit is an important trade show that we’ve made a priority to exhibit at for a number of years now. Our Organics Unlimited team is eager to be part of this year’s virtual event,” Velazquez de León shares.
“We genuinely appreciate the hard work by everyone involved to plan and carryout this wonderful industry event each fall. The virtual version in 2020 is a new aspect for all of us and we hope that all participants have a successful show. Please don’t hesitate to stop by and check out our virtual Organics Unlimited booth,” Velazquez de León concludes.
