Emmanuel Schaffner, Verduyn:

“We are harvesting the first cauliflowers from our own production in the Hauts-de-France!”

For the first time this year, the company Verduyn is producing cauliflower. “It is a trial crop we are producing ourselves at the request of some of our clients who are fed up with the price fluctuations,” explains Emmanuel Schaffner, sales director France at Verduyn.

“We then decided to plant our own cauliflowers in a land wonderfully well adapted to this crop, right next to our site in Wancourt. We made this trial coincide with the end of the summer cauliflower season because the weather in September is often more favorable for harvesting. The yields for this one-month test are approximately 20,000 heads. As for the quality, we are very satisfied and we plan to extend this trial to the whole summer cauliflower campaign next year.”
