"Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Austria are the main destinations for our Apulian grapes. Orders are constantly being placed and prices are in line with last year, with a slight increase for red cultivars. Since the beginning of the campaign, requests have always been consistent, despite the emergency period and the difficulties connected to it, but we are starting to get serious from now on. The demand for seedless grapes is growing at a fast pace, while we are waiting for the Italian variety to reach the excellent color and brix grade required by foreign markets". This is the feedback from Chiara Redavid, agronomist and sales manager of F.lli Redavid, an Apulian company that produces and markets grapes throughout Europe.
"We own about 60 hectares, that include grapes with and without seeds, but we also work with other regional winemakers who respect our quality standards and agronomic processes recommended by us. Our mission is to offer excellent, tasty and carefully packaged fruits to European consumers, as if picked freshly."
"Currently, sales are particularly focused on seedless varieties, as we await the perfect coloring of the Italian grapes. This year we have seen delays in ripening for this cultivar in the southern areas of Bari, due to downy mildew attacks caused by the humid weather conditions of the past months. Fortunately, this was promptly solved, but we will have to wait another ten days before harvesting. It must be said, however, that for the grapes with seeds the prices are not very gratifying, but one can hope that the prices will increase with the beginning of the new month, when the quality will reach its excellence."
"Our clients are both general markets and foreign retail chains. The quality of the grapes, especially for the current campaign, is guaranteed. Color, flavor and the size of the grapes characterize the Apulian production, with a surge in consumption towards seedless grapes."
