At the sixth China Fruit Industry Brand Conference and the Asian Fruit and Vegetable Industry Conference, held in Foshan -Guangdong province- on September 9th, the results of an evaluation of 2020 regional public brand values of fruit were released. Four Yantai brands were listed among the top 50 regional public brands.
The brand values of the Yantai apple and the Qixia apple were determined to be 14.51 billion yuan ($2.12 billion) and 6.63 billion yuan, respectively. The brand value of the Yantai apple has achieved 12 years of continuous growth.
According to an article on chinadaily.com.cn, in 2019, Yantai apples were planted over an area of 188,000 hectares and had an output of around 5.68 million tons. The brand value of the Yantai apple has grown rapidly in the past few years, from 10.59 billion yuan in 2015 to 14.51 billion yuan in 2020.
With its bright color and sweet and succulent taste, the Yantai apple enjoys strong popularity in domestic and foreign markets. The apple has been exported to more than 60 countries and regions, including Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Russia.
