Ukraine is considering a ban on potato imports from Russia

The Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine is considering the possibility of introducing a ban on the import of potatoes from Russia as a way to support the domestic producers.

Taras Vysotsky, Deputy Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture, announced this on his Facebook page.

“I chaired a meeting of the working group on the development of potato growing. We discussed possible tools to support domestic potato processing. The ban on the import of potatoes from Russia, phytosanitary service consultations or the introduction of state support for processing are some of the tools that will be used," said Taras Vysotsky.
